Hello family and friends!
We decided to start a new blog for our travels and adventures throughout the next year and a half. We are currently travelling throughout Europe for the next 7 weeks. We flew into Dublin, Ireland on June 3rd. Flying standby all the way by the blessing of our dear family friends Moon and Nancy. We couldn't have hoped for a more smooth long day of travelling. We arrived at the Seattle airport June 2nd at 5:30 am with the intention to have a layover in Atlanta, GA. When we got there the flight agent informed us that we would have greater luck getting on the Dublin flight if we flew through New York instead. We had an 8 hour layover in New York and had intentions of heading into Manhattan to explore but by the time we got there we were exhausted and had a couple things to take care of including booking a place to stay for when we arrived in Dublin a couple hours later :) The 8 hours actually flew by and felt like 2 hours. Our Dublin flight was set to leave New York at 10:30pm. With much anticipation as to if we would get on the flight (because they were overbooked in coach by 14 seats!) we were a little stressed that we would get stuck in New York at 10:30pm. We were assigned seats at the last minute. PLUS we got to fly Business class!!! Within an hour later we were in fully reclined seats at the front of the plane with eye masks, a quilt, pillow, and a mimosa in hand! We had originally planned to sleep during the whole 6 hour flight because it would be morning when we arrived in Dublin and we wanted to get acclimated to the time change quickly. With a full course meal and free in flight movies it was hard to sleep right away. We felt so blessed and spoiled to get to travel this way. It was a terrific way to start our adventure!
Cheers!
What a great way to begin the trip!!!
