Our first few hours in Paris: We arrived by bus from London at about 5:30 am. We forgot to write down our address to our hostel figuring we would just find a wifi when we arrived and look up the directions at the time. It didn't help that the bus dropped us off at 5:30 in the morning and we didn't even know the exact location of where we were. In the words of a nice gentlmen that helped us figure out the metro system " It's hard to get where you need to go if you don't know where you are going." We decided to get on the metro and go towards the center of town. I asked a young gal on the bus if she spoke English and knew where the nearest cafe with wifi was. She pulled out her iphone and asked if she could help us find our hostel....what a blessing! We found our hostel but of course weren't able to check into our room until 5pm. They let us shower and eat breakfast and store our bags which was terrific. Both very tired, we decided to find a place to take a nap. We headed towards the Eifel Tower where the grass was actually a little damp either from rain or sprinklers. I encouraged Johnny to ask the "green team" working next to us for a clean garbage bag to lay on. We slept curled up next to each other for about two hours as the sun beat on us....so peaceful...until we woke up to a class of about 7 year olds walking past us probably wondering why these weird American's were sleeping on the lawn! As we were getting up, I noticed a couple carrying some food and looking for a place to sit (being myself, I'll talk to anyone) I asked if they were planning on having a picnic and if they wanted to use our garbage bag to sit on as the grass was a little damp. As we began to talk they asked if we wanted two free tickets up to the Eifel Tower as they accidentally bought extra tickets. The tickets, however, were set for 11:30 and it was currently 11:23...we graciously accpeted and they encouraged us to run to make sure we got there in time. (after waking up from a two hour nap on the lawn...we booked it to the enterance and made it just in time) We ended up finding them on the lawn when we came back down and appologized for only exchanging a garbage bag for tickets up the Eifel Tower, they laughed and were pleased to have the opportunity to give them away. We hope to bless another couple in the same way sometime!

It's true...almost everyone smokes in Paris...including ontop of the Eifel Tower apparently!

What a blessing that was! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us!
